How can I raise the rating of my laptop so I can play a game?

I recently purchased a Dell with duo core 1.8, and 1g ram, 64k vid card raytheon9500. This seems to meet the min req on the box. But when I start to play, the game shuts down.

Q: what can I do to improve the performance of my machine so I can play this $50 game?

Is it possible to change the video card on a notebook?

Would adding RAM solve this issue?

Any ideas? How can I raise the rating of my laptop so I can play a game?
whats the game ... it looks like u should have enough ram and processor to start it ... if the game is shutting down it most likely is the videocard and i would make sure u have the latest directx and driver for it .. also the first answer advice is good ... lower settings in the games options before u start it ...... u cant replace it no ...How can I raise the rating of my laptop so I can play a game?
when the game shuts down..any errors? have you tried adjusting your resolution? changing laptop parts is a costly and risky move...look at the little things first
Name the game

Give the exact specs of the game

Buy a new computer or give up on the game.
Hard to say what the problem is without knowing what the error messages are!

Have you compared the game's system requirements to your system's specs? If you system doesn't meet the minimum specs it may not run or will run poorly.

You generally can't upgrade the video subsystem on a laptop. You can and should ensure that you have the latest device drivers, not just for the video by all of your system's hardware.

Adding RAM may or may not help. Again, without knowing the game's system requirements it's impossible to say.
no that laptop jsut cant play that game. u cannot upgrade the video card, and adding more memory prbly wont help.
lower the specs of the game i.e. the video, shading, detail etc.
