How to reset video card resolution?

I have a GTX 260 and i had to get a new monitor/tv. The only problem is after it loads it goes into a non supported resolution mode. how would i change that?How to reset video card resolution?
If you use windows operating system, turn on with safe mode.

In safe mode, you can change video card resolution.
