The video playback is only supported if the clip goes through the Windows display driver. If the playback is using the
so-called video overlay technique, where the image/video is produced and displayed directly by your video card, then it
cannot be captured. This happens often for example with 3D games as well. However, some video files, like certain WMV
playbacks, should show up in Remote Control as well. If possible, please try to change the format of your video
playback to use Windows display, if you wish to view the contents over LogMeIn.
Am i able to do that with a Video game( world of warcraft?) and how? thanksChanging Video to WMV?
You cannot do that with a video game. ( UNLESS you have extremely good technical skills and use a lot of virtualization devices ).
The game needs to be displayed on one's video card. As you are accessing your computer remotely, you cannot use your own video card, and the game will not work.
For reference ( don't try this unless you know what you are doing, or you know someone who does : ) What you want to do could work ( over a very good internet connection ) provided :
- a Linux machine ( for the HOST )
- X server configured for SSH access
- Wine with DirectX / OpenGL support
- World of Warcraft ( I know it works either in Wine or in native Linux. As I am not a player, I don't know more details ).
- Very fast internet connection
- a Linux machine ( for the GUEST )
- Loads of luck, for nothing to go wrong in the process
Over native Windows machines, the answer is :
No, you cannot.
P.S
WMV is a video format ( for recorded videos, movies, trailers, etc.. like you recording yourself on a video camera ). It has NOTHING to do with video games. Video games are generated AS YOU PLAY THEM.
Best of luck!Changing Video to WMV?
