I'm upgrading my video card from a GeForce4 MX to an AGP 8X card. Do I need to physically remove the old card?

Also, do I need to go into the BIOS and change any settings? If so, how is this procedure done?I'm upgrading my video card from a GeForce4 MX to an AGP 8X card. Do I need to physically remove the old card?
If it is Geforce4 MX integrated, you can not remove it. It is part of the chipset. Just plug in the AGP card. BIOS will do everything automatically. BUT you need to load the driver of that new card. This might be of help:

How are you going to to replace the old card if you don't remove it? Of course you have to physically remove it, the same as any component. The only exception would be if you had an onboard graphics chip, in which case plugging a card into the AGP slot should automatically switch the onboard chip off.

You shouldn't need to change anything in the BIOS but then it sounds like you have a really old system, so who knows.
What he said, you will have to put the card in the computer, but it is not terribly difficult. Unplug the computer first, please, we hate to lose questioners.

No bios adjustments should be necessary, but you will probably have to load drivers. The video card probably comes with a CD,
