How to optimize gameplay? (hardware improvement)?

I have a pentium 4 CPU @ 2.54 GHz

1 GB ram ddr1

250 gb HDD

How to improve hardware (without changing video card!!!) to optimize gameplay? How to optimize gameplay? (hardware improvement)?
Heya,

I added 2 more GB of RAM+ new motherboard. Try adding more RAM for a startHow to optimize gameplay? (hardware improvement)?
Umm... without a good video card, you can do everything and anything and it wouldn't make a difference...

But you could always upgrade CPU/Mobo/ram
add an extra 1gb ram

gameplay would not necessarily improve, but overall pc would
hmmmmm.........it seems u haven't informed about how much is ur video cars's memory cause that tells a lot about ur gaming performance as it increases ur frames per second which enhances gaming performances.

There are usually ways to improve ur gameplay like u could increase ur RAM to around 2 to 3GB and stop or disable some startup or running applications and services that can be temporarily stopped during gameplay.Try this software it might help.
You could upgrade to a dual core, but often if you need to upgrade the processor, it isn't worth it. Depending on your price range: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/

Of course, a much simpler and cheaper process would be to upgrade the ram, which could help quite a bit, depending on the games you are playing. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/

The cpu upgrade could help out a whole lot, but would be a bit costlier and time consuming to actually do. For the cpu upgrade, you have to pick that out yourself, though, because you have to figure what cpu socket(s) your motherboard supports, as well as what your psu can handle. The ram upgrade would be much simpler and cheaper but would not improve it as much.
