How do you change your settings to your new graphics card?

i bought a new graphics card for supreme commander i checked it and it has all the requirements for the game but it still says your video card does not meet minium requirements. So im thinking that it still is reading my old internal graphics card. any ideas how to change it without uninstaling my old one.How do you change your settings to your new graphics card?
EDIT:

Well if you don't disable the onboard graphics then it will never use the new descrete graphics card....which means it's useless.

You need to disable/shut-down your internal/integrated graphics in order for your new add-on graphics card to work. Usually whenever a motherboard detects a new graphics card is installed, it disables the integrated graphics automatically...in some cases they don't.

Here are the Steps on how to install a new graphics card and disable integrated graphics:

1. Go into ';Control Panel'; --%26gt; ';Device Manager'; --%26gt; ';graphics Adapters';

2. Next, right click ';Graphics Adatper'; and click on ';Disable';. You are now ready to install your new graphics card.

3. Turn off your system and insert your new graphics card. Plug your display cable into the graphics card.

4. Your system should detect the new graphics card. Insert the driver disk to install the drivers for your card. I would recommend that you go to the graphics card developer site (nvidia or ATi) and download the latest drivers instead. The included drivers are usually outdated by several months.

* everything on your screen will be...large the first time you turn on your computer after installing the new graphics card because it does not have any drivers. After install the drivers it can then be adjusted.
