If i update my video card will it be high enough to run call of duty 4?

im not sure how much you need to run the game but if i get an update staright from my pc will that make my video card high enough or does it not change that?, if so where can i get video card updates and that for FREE? and my video card is not too much lower than the requirements,

if its a older model 2006 or less probably not. if you have a high enough card and 3 or more rams proably but it has to be a good video card
