How do i change my video card?

i am wondering if there is a way to upgrade my video card without buying a new computer. i originally bought this computer for school and therefore didnt expect to need a very good video card. it then became my main computer and as such i now play video games like rome total war, WOW, and other games like this. when playing these games my computer is liable to just shut down randomly and i think it is because the video card cant handle running the games anymore and doesnt know what else to do.How do i change my video card?
actually my friend your computer is shutting down because of the processor!!!! once the processor reaches a certain heat it shuts down!! i suggest getting a better cooler or better cpu! as for the graphics card all you need is a pci slot and you have to take out your old one put in the new one.... there are no issues of shutting down related to graphics cards! (that i know of aha). invest in a cpu cooler is my suggestion!!How do i change my video card?
If it's a laptop, it may be impossible. If it's a desktop, it's almost as simple as shutting off the computer, opening the case, pulling out one card, and putting in the other.

However, you need to know what kinds of slots your computer has available for the card before you purchase a new one, and you'll need to take standard anti-static precautions, while removing and inserting cards.
This depends on what kind of computer you have. If you have a laptop then it i really hard to replace a Video Card. But if you have a desktop computer you should be able to open it and see what kind of video card you have, bring it to your local best buy or technology store and they will help you pick out which one you need. Desktops are supposed to be easily upgraded.
