Mostly trying to figure out how to remove the video cardI own a Dimension 8250 Dell series. Im trying to change a video card. How do I do this?
Your computer accepts AGP 4x, and PCI.

Those are both older cardbus slots, and are not great for gaming. Always go with AGP over PCi and PCI-e over all them.

You have a 250 watt PSU so you are limited.

You can accept those.

Not any ones that need any seperate power plug.

I would say get that one, I know it will work for you but it will not be great.

If you do get a new PSU, do NOT get a cheap one. Cheap ones can fry and fry the rest of your computer.

good brands- Corsair, Thermaltake(toughpower), Pc Power and Cooling, SilverStone, Seasonic.

A PSU is not a place to save money. they are worth the $70-$150.

If the computer features a dedicated card on a PCI-X 16 slot then there are a few steps to follow.

Remove the side to the computer case, this is done by either removing a couple screws or by lifting a release lever in the rear.

locate the graphics card by looking for the card that has your VGA/DVI port attached to it (this is the port your monitor is attached to).

There will likely be a screw that holds this card to the case it will be a small phillips screw.

Most motherboards have a clasp on the 16X slot either in the form of a simple springy tab or a clasp. The clasp would be pushed to the left and the card should slightly unseat if it is the springy kind then you simply push it to the side and release the card by hand.

You can then install the new card with the opposite of removal.

Please note that you will need to completely remove the driver software for the other card if it is a competing company (ATI vs. Nvidea)
