Changing video cards?

How easy is it to change the video card in a laptop. My laptop is good in all other areas but has only got a 32Mb video card which I would like to upgrade.Changing video cards?
its impossible, laptop video cards are built into the mainboard(motherboard)

this is because manufacturers need to save space to cram all the components into the limited space of a laptop

cheaper laptops tend to use intergarted graphics, such as intel and s.i.s chipsets, but the more expensive laptops use better graphic chips

i use the word';chips';and not cards as thats basically what they are, even the nvidia geforce 7800 adapters that would normally come in a massive card with fan and heatsink come as a small graphics chip in a laptop but still manage to produce the same graphic reproduction

some manufacturers, like nvidia experimented with a technology called ';mxm'; graphic chips,(http://www.nvidia.com/page/mxm.html),thi is the closest you will get to upgrading a laptops graphic chip,it basically is a slide in chip on a small board(very similar to a memroy module)and you could in theory take out your current graphics chip and insert a more up to date and powerful chip

this is still a very rare upgrade as not many manufacturers of laptops like to include this in their laptops as it makes them very expensive to manufacter, and like we all know ,we dont like paying thousands for a laptop

my advice is when the lifespan of this laptop has ended, stick to normal desktops, they are easy to upgrade and can be tailored to any type of use, gaming, office, video editing ect

to enhance your current graphics chip in your laptop try updating the display drivers(http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/dr and intel(http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-

also download the latest direct x runtime files(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai will improve the 3d graphics sub-system on your laptop, thus improving the performance of your games

i hope this has helped

good luckChanging video cards?
You can't change the video card in a laptop.
you cant upgrade laptop cards they are built into the board
It all depends on the type of laptop but overall it is just a few screws and a few drivers. Not too comlicated

Hope this is the best answer, if so please select it
I think you can change it, but it might be harder. just google change laptop video card or something. @devjoel if laptops aren't designed for gaming what do you call the xps m1710 and just about every alienware laptop made? I don't think non gamers want two Goforce (goforce NOT geforce) 7900gtx in sli or a mobility radeon x1900. So yes, there are gaming laptops.
Next to impossible, it is built-in for laptops. Even though it has the same circuit pathway as a card physically it is not a card.
Very Hard, most laptos its impossible, u see laptops arent designed for gaming or high-end graphic applications, but now they come ready with 256MB Cards, but all cards are built in. so its almost impossible to upgrade ur Video card, although u can speak with the laptop manufacturers and see... since i dont know ur laptop model this is all i can say.

hope this helps u
The easy way to change the video card in your laptop is to buy a new laptop. In fact, unless you're going to rework the motherboard it's the only way. It's been 15 years since I've seen a laptop with a separate video card (and that was no laptop for ordinary people... 10Kg of PC and only a 286).

Laptop video cards are not up to high-end game playing. You want high-end game playing you need a desktop.
