Video card Changing question Direct 3d and opengl?

When I try to run my graphics card in open gl through the advanced settings on desktop I click apply and then i go look at it then it's back on to direct 3D how can I fix this so it stays at opengl?Video card Changing question Direct 3d and opengl?
